Welcome to my website!
I am a 4th-year Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh.
My research lies at the intersection of political economy, development economics, and economic history, examining how culture (esp. religion) and institutions shape economic and political development. One strand studies how religious beliefs/practices and group identities influence conflict and cooperation. A second analyzes how institutional and social environments affect human development. A third investigates the historical foundations of development, using spatial data and quasi-experimental approaches to understand how structural transformations shape long-run growth. Together, these projects form a unified research agenda on the cultural and institutional determinants of prosperity across time and space.
